Clean Water for All

Clean water as a fundamental human right.

Safe, clean water is not a luxury but a fundamental human right and the foundation of a healthy, dignified life. Yet many rural and low-income communities across Sri Lanka still rely on unsafe sources, walking long distances daily for water unfit to drink.

Through our Clean Water for All project, ALKUF builds and rehabilitates wells, installs water-distribution systems, provides filtration devices and runs community awareness on hygiene and conservation.

Our goal is not just to quench thirst but to empower communities, letting children attend school instead of fetching water, improving household health, and supporting water-based livelihoods.

What we do

  • Well Construction: drilling and rehabilitating wells for clean groundwater.
  • Water Distribution Systems: storage tanks, pipes and filtration for households.
  • Community & Tube Wells: accessible wells in drought-prone and rural areas.
  • Sanitation Support: hygiene and safe-water practices to reduce disease.
  • Emergency Water Relief: clean water during droughts and emergencies.
